ABOUT
The act of being in a place, connecting and resonating deeply with nature, the earth—this is at the core of my art practice. It is a physical expression of my inward reality connecting with the external forces of nature. I paint outdoors as a meditation. Sometimes I lay multiple canvases on the ground, working on them simultaneously. I move from canvas to canvas—a single stroke here, a single stroke there. It allows me to get my entire body into a painting, and find a state of flow where body, canvas, and landscape become one. I complete my paintings in one session. I resist refining in the studio. I would rather have an honest stroke that emerges from the place it was created than a perfect composition.
